Ok so this post is a long time coming…
I’ve been manic since getting back to the UK and I’ve finally got back into routine so I’m here to share pictures and my journey with you one snippet at a time! 🙂
We touched down in Rome around mid day Wednesday 31st August. It was a beautiful, scorching summers day and the air surrounded us like a luxurious warm blanket comforting the skin. It was super hot. So new Prada sunglasses in tow, we headed over to the car park to meet friends and start our adventure! Eek!
It was only a short drive to our air bnb from the airport. We had the cutest little apartment in Trastevere. This is a really great area, buzzing with nightlife and places to eat and drink. Tip no.1 – ask for the carbonara (dribbling…)
TOP PLACES TO SEE:
The Colosseum –
We done the audio guide and this was amazing. No need for a tour guide and lengthy discussions about history you will forget… The audio was loud enough for two people to hear and told us everything we needed to get a good background on the colosseum.
Fountain of Trevi –
This is another must-see. A stunning architectural masterpiece coupled with glistening clear blue water. Dreamy. Make a wish, it just may come true…
We had one and a half glorious tourist days in Rome, eating in local pizzerias and snacking on the best gelato we’ve ever tasted! To name them all would take me all night… but head to the area we stayed in for local food and a more “student” nightlife scene. We absolutely loved it. For more recommendations head to my Instagram where I have added location so you can see where I ate and drank whilst roaming 😉
